Avoid Harmful colors in the Holi - Wish you All a Very Happy Holi!!!!!!!

The colorful season has come! People of all age groups play Holi! This is a season where everybody loves to have fun! Everybody is storing colours for this season of colour! The researchers have discovered that Holi causes health problems just like Diwali. The scientists have shown the harmful effect of colours on water and soil. The human health is seriously under threat!

The colours used in Holi are artificial in nature. The chemical composition is structured polymer. These colours have no chance to decompose biologically. The water and soil are affected continuously by these harmful colours. The harmful elements in colours are as follows:

1. Acids

2. Glass powder.

3. Mica

4. Alkalis.

The long term damage from colours of Holi is due to the following:

1. Nonbiodegradable.

2. Cannot be separated from waste water through treatments of conventional form.

Under a study named “ National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, “ the chemical form of colours have removed the dyes in vegetables in Kolkata.

The chemicals present in the Holi color consist of the following:

1. Lead.

2. Aromatic compounds.

3. Tetrathyline.

4. Benzene.

From the analysis, the report revealed the following:

Green, red and black colours have high percentage of copper sulphate, lead oxide and mercury sulphite. The skin problems are caused by harmful solvents. The problems are as follows:

1. Rashes.

2. Cancer of skin.

3. Allergy.

4. Eczema

5. Dermatitis.

The dry skin is damaged by the influence of harmful chemicals. The colours easily enter the skin. Those who have a history of skin problems, like eczema, dermatitis, they are quickly affected by itching and rashes.

The colours of Holi consists of chemical dyes. These dyes are found in the market. The dyes remain in the skin for a long time. There is huge demand of chemical colours. These type of colours are available at a low cost. The natural colours of herbs are costly.

People also play Holi with grease and gas stain oil. Many skin problems arise due to these chemicals. After 2-3 hours, the reaction is visible. In order to remove the chemicals, we use the following:

1. Kerosene oil.

2. Soap.

3. Detergent.

The above substances aggravates the problem rather than solving it.

The herbal colours for the Holi are prepared by the chemical engineering department of Jadavpur University in Kolkata. They are extracted from the flowers. The pushpa Abir are in great demand from all over the country and abroad.

Harmful chemicals in the colours of Holi are as follows:
Black – Lead oxide.

Green – Copper Sulphate and malachite green.

Silver – Aluminium Bromide.

Blue – Prussian blue.

Red – Mercury Sulphate.

Green – Mehendi or Henna Powder

Yellow – Turmeric Powder or besan.

Red – Hibiscus , beet root.

Blue – Jacaranda flowers

Precautions in the Holi Season:

· Apply mustard oil in the body before starting to play Holi.

· Do not come in contact with green, purple and dark colours.

· Washing away colours as quickly as possible.

· After playing Holi, you should not stay in Sunlight for long time.

· The harmful colours should be substituted with colour petals.

The Leadership Qualities of King Shivaji

Shivaji Bhosle is known popularly as Chatrapati Shivaji. He is not only known as a brave warrior. He had the leadership qualities. Some information about Shivaji has been enlisted below:

Administrator independent of religions: Nowadays we talk about secularism. Shivaji was truly a secular king. He maintained peace with the Muslim rulers. In his royal army, there were 1.5 lakh soldiers. Among those soldiers, there were 66,000 Muslim soldiers. As a Muslim, he was quite devoted to his religion.

Father of Modern Indian Navy: Shivaji felt the need for a navy. For this reason, he built fort at the coastal areas. He created naval soldiers separately. He had aimed to protect the Konkan Islands of Maharashtra. The ancient past has been remembered in the Forts like Vijay forts and Sindhu Forts.

Shivaji respected women significantly: He did not tolerate sexual exploitation of women or torture of women. He controlled the injustice on women strictly. He learnt to respect women from Jijamata. He gave orders to the soldiers not to torture women. If anybody disobeyed rules, they were given severe tough punishment.

How Shivaji escaped from detention at Panhala: In the Panhala fort, Shivaji was detained by the soldiers of Siddhi Jouhar. To mislead them, he used Barber Shiva Nahvi. Barber looked like Shivaji. He arranged two palanquins. In one palanquin, Barber was present. The soldiers of Siddi followed him. Shivaji escaped using the other palanquin.

Shivaji is also the leader of obedient army: Before Shivaji, their father fought along with general people and farmers. Those people used to fight for the king in the dry season. Shivaji first formed the dedicated army. Along with regular training throughout the year, he gave salary to the soldiers.

Defeat of Afzhal Khan: For meeting Afzhal Khan, Shivaji needed time. Adil Shah was the head of army of Khan. According to the conditions of Shah, one sword and one flower can be carried. The arrangement was made in that way. But Shivaji had fear that there might be attack. He wore a protective jacket inside the clothes. The left hand had concealed tiger nails. The sword of Afzhal Khan did not harm him significantly. Afzhal Khan was struck by the tiger claws.

Started guerilla war: Shivaji was known as Mountain Rat. He knew his area like the palm of his hand. He started the guerilla war.

Fled from Agra: Shivaji fled easily escaping the attention. He fled from Agra in the same way. Aurangzeb made him captive within his court. Other than fighting for Afghan soldiers, there was no other way. He took the permission to send fruits and sweets to a temple at Agra. The sweets were sent using big boxes. He entered one box in a particular day and fled from the fort.

Kind king: He was regarded as a benevolent king among the people. Even when the enemies wanted to resign, he showed benevolence.

Above all, the nation will respect King Shivaji forever. The respect bestowed on Shivaji is for the countrymen. He inspired the Indians to fight for their motherland.

Scholar Rohith Vemula’s Suicide Target of politicians in Hyderabad

Bandaru Dattatreya had been booked in the First Information Report (FIR) for abetting the suicide of Rohith Vemula who is a second-year PhD student. The incident appears nonsensical.
